I consider it an honor to have the opportunity to care for those in my community. People place their trust in me during an often stressful and uncomfortable time; I take this very seriously. As a healthcare professional, my goal is to make people happy and healthy and to have them leave and tell people “I love the dentist.”
The best part of my job is building long-lasting relationships with my patients. As a dentist I have the opportunity to see people multiple times a year. I see them through weddings, pregnancies, new jobs, and new pets. Interacting with and meeting new people makes my day fun, and helping them achieve their oral health goals is equally as rewarding.
My first career in the healthcare field was not as a dentist, but as a registered nurse. I believe this experience gives me a greater understanding of the need to be nurturing and compassionate towards my patients. I was exposed to the field of dentistry after taking a job in day surgery where we primarily hosted dentists, caring for kids and people with special needs who require general anesthesia for their dental care. I quickly became interested in dentistry because it combines the hands-on technical skills that I enjoy with the personal relationships that I find rewarding.
It was exactly ten years after completing my undergrad degree at the University of Pennsylvania, that I began my training in my second career as a dentist. I attended the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California for my Doctorate of Dental Surgery, which I earned with honors in 2010.
Since then, I’ve gone beyond my required hours of continuing education in order to provide up-to-date care to my patients. The field of dentistry is always introducing new technologies and products which challenge me and interest me. I am constantly learning new techniques and incorporating new technologies into my office.
Being an active member of my community is something I’ve always felt was important. I participated in a dental mission trip to the Philippines and am hoping to return again in the future. I also volunteer on a local level at our yearly dental convention in Boston. Autism research and awareness is important to me since my life has been touched by it both professionally and personally. I have volunteered at the Walk Now for Autism Speaks event in Pennsylvania over the years with my family there.
In my free time, I love to be outside! Going for long walks with my dog, Diana, and kayaking are my favorite outdoor activities. I realized during the pandemic that I enjoy taking pictures of nature while I'm out and about, so I've been slowly learning about photography. I am on the road a lot, visiting family on Cape Cod and in Eastern Pennsylvania. Thankfully, Diana loves road trips as much as I do!
I honestly am most passionate about my relationships with friends and family. In this crazy world, I don't know how I'd get by without them!
The most important part of dentistry for me is making sure my patients feel comfortable and cared for. I feel very fortunate as a general dentist to be able to form long-term relationships with patients where I can improve their oral health while also getting to see them grow as people in their own lives. As a healthcare professional I am dedicated to making sure my patients are getting the care they deserve and will strive to do this for each and every one of them.
Before I became a dentist, I had the opportunity to work “behind the scenes” in healthcare. My first job after completing my undergraduate degree at the University of San Diego was doing research and manufacturing cancer treatments for a multitude of diseases. This experience in pharmaceuticals gave me insight into the treatments we use in healthcare, but it also helped me realize that I wanted to interact with patients. After this realization, I completed my Masters in Global Medicine at the University of Southern California while shadowing many dentists in my area. This degree opened my eyes up to how healthcare can be applied on a global scale while the shadowing confirmed my goal to become a dentist. I then attended the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California for my Doctorate of Dental Surgery, which I earned with honors.
I am originally from California and love the outdoors! Now that I am on the east coast, I cannot wait to explore New England and all it has to offer. In my free time, I love cooking and trying new places to eat. My favorite kinds of restaurants are hole-in-the wall places where the staff makes you feel at home. One of my favorite things to do is make food videos of new recipes, if you have a favorite restaurant don’t forget to let me know the name when you come in to see us!
